Your documents
stay yours.

PDFEase converts, merges, splits and compresses PDFs, and reads as little about you as that allows. This page says exactly what we collect, how long your files stick around, and how to have anything removed.

Browser-based processing

Never sold

No data sales, transparent advertising choices, no AI training.

On-device where possible

Some tools never touch a server at all.

PDFEase (“we”, “us”, “our”) builds fast, no-nonsense tools for everyday document work: PDF to Image, Image to PDF, Merge PDF, Split PDF and Compress PDF. This policy explains what information we collect, why we need it, and the choices you have.

It applies to the PDFEase website and the PDFEase Android app. By using either one, you accept this policy as it is published on this page.

Two principles guide everything below: your documents belong to you, and we only ever handle the data the tools genuinely need.

We keep collection deliberately small. There is no sign-up, so we never ask for a name, password, phone number, address or date of birth.

  • Files you process, The PDF or image files you choose to convert, merge, split or compress, and nothing else in your folders or gallery.
  • Website usage data, When a page is viewed, the website records the page path, a temporary session identifier, device category, referring site (when available), and country estimate. The country lookup uses the visitor's IP address through the GeoJS service; our page-view record stores the country result rather than the IP address. Session data is stored in sessionStorage for the browser session.
  • Messages you send us, The email address and text of any support request you write to us.

We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, call log or precise location, and we do not buy profiles from data brokers.

Your information is used for these purposes:

  • Running the tools, Converting, merging, splitting or compressing the file you asked us to work on.
  • Keeping PDFEase stable, Reading crash logs so a broken build can be fixed before it affects more people.
  • Improving the app, Looking at aggregate usage, which tools are popular, where jobs fail, to decide what to build next.
  • Support & safety, Replying to your questions and stopping automated abuse of the service.
We never sell your personal information, we never show your documents to advertisers, and we do not use your files to train AI models.

This is the part that matters most, so here it is without the legal fog:

  • Browser-based website tools, The web tools process the contents of the files you select in your browser. The selected file contents are not uploaded to PDFEase servers by these website tools.
  • Only what you pick, The browser tool reads the files you explicitly select, not a scan of your whole storage.
  • Temporary by design, For Android app operations that use a remote conversion service, files may be transmitted to that service to complete the requested job. Any server-side retention statement applies only to those remote jobs and must match the deployed service configuration; website browser-only operations do not create a PDFEase server copy of the selected file.
  • Failed jobs too, For remote app jobs, temporary-file cleanup depends on the conversion service. Keep a local copy of the original file and avoid sending highly sensitive documents unless you are comfortable with the processing described here.
  • No AI training, Documents are not read, indexed, summarised or reused for model training.

Website tools process selected files in the browser. Some Android app operations also run on-device; other app operations may require the network or a remote conversion service.

PDFEase asks for the minimum the system allows, and each one has a plain reason:

  • Photos and media access, So you can pick a PDF or image from your own device to work on.
  • Network access, So the app can reach the conversion service and check for updates.
  • Notifications, Only if enabled by you, to tell you that a long job has finished.

Removing a permission never breaks the app permanently, you can grant or revoke it any time in your Android settings, and the app will simply ask again when the feature is needed.

The website uses browser sessionStorage for a temporary session identifier and a cached country result. These values are stored in your browser session and are not persistent cookies. Other browser storage may be used by the browser or application libraries as needed for the site to function.

  • Session storage, Keeps a temporary session identifier and cached country lookup result during the browser session.
  • Page-view analytics, The website records page path, session identifier, country estimate, referrer and device category in its analytics database to understand site usage and diagnose problems.

To estimate a visitor's country, the site sends a country-lookup request to GeoJS. The lookup provider receives the visitor's IP address as part of the request; PDFEase stores the returned country estimate with page-view analytics, rather than storing the IP address in that page-view record. The referring URL is truncated before it is recorded.

You can clear cookies and site data from your browser at any time; PDFEase keeps working, it will just forget your preferences.

PDFEase may display advertisements served by Google AdSense on the website after the site is configured and approved for advertising. Advertising partners do not receive the contents of files processed by our browser-based tools. However, they may receive technical information from the browser and use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies. Depending on your consent choices, region, and advertising settings, Google and its partners may use these technologies to display personalised or non-personalised advertisements.

Where required by applicable law and Google's policies, PDFEase will configure an appropriate Google-certified consent management platform and obtain the required consent before serving advertisements. Users can manage personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings.

  • Third-party cookies, Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites, subject to your consent choices and applicable settings.
  • Google advertising cookies, When enabled and permitted by your consent choices, Google's advertising cookies may enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to PDFEase and other sites on the Internet.
  • Opting out, You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or www.aboutads.info.
  • Consent, Before serving ads in regions where Google requires consent, PDFEase must configure an appropriate Google-certified consent management platform and obtain the required choices. Do not assume consent is active until that consent flow is deployed and tested.

For details, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We never sell your data. A few trusted services help the website and app function:

  • Cloud hosting, Servers that host the website and store anonymous visit statistics.
  • Google AdSense, May serve advertisements if the site is approved and advertising is enabled. The project does not load the AdSense script by default; it requires a valid publisher ID and an explicit enable setting.
  • Google Play, Installing, updating and rating the app is handled by Google, under Google Play's own privacy policy.

If we add a new service provider, this page is updated first and the provider is named here before it receives any data.

  • Your PDFs and images, Website browser-only jobs do not upload the selected document contents to PDFEase servers. For Android app jobs that use a remote conversion service, retention depends on that service's deployed cleanup policy and must be verified against the live configuration.
  • Crash logs, Up to 30 days, then they roll off.
  • Anonymous usage statistics, Kept long-term in aggregated form that cannot be traced back to you.
  • Support emails, Up to 12 months so we can follow up, then deleted on request.

Want something gone sooner? Email us and we will delete it and confirm once it is done, no forms, no retention of the deletion request beyond a short log entry.

  • Encryption, The website is served over HTTPS. Browser-only website file operations run locally; the security and retention of any remote Android conversion job also depend on the configured service provider.
  • Least access, Only the small number of engineers on call can reach production systems, and only to fix an incident.
  • No bulk access, There is no admin screen that browses user documents; files are addressed by opaque job identifiers.
  • Monitoring, Unusual traffic and abuse patterns are watched so rate limits can be applied automatically.

Wherever you live, you can write to us and ask to:

  • Know, Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct, Fix anything that is wrong.
  • Delete, Have your data removed, including a support email thread.
  • Port, Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object or restrict, Ask us to stop certain processing, or withdraw a consent you gave.

Requests are answered within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm the email address you wrote from so we do not delete or disclose the wrong person's data. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

PDFEase is a productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.

Our servers may sit outside your country. When that happens we rely on recognised safeguards (adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses) so the protection described in this policy travels with the data.

When we change this page we update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how your documents are handled, we will also point it out in the app or in a support reply rather than quietly editing the text.

Previous versions are available on request, just ask for the date you need.

Questions, deletion requests, or anything that is not covered here, write to support@pdfease.app. A real person reads it, and we reply within two business days.

Please do not attach the document you want deleted, the job ID or the date you used the tool is enough to find it.
